This work is very scarce in the trade. <br /> <br /> "Moses Margoliouth 1820–1881 divine was born of Jewish parents at Suwalki Poland on 3 Dec. 1820. He was instructed at Pryerosl Grodno and Kalwarya in talmudic and rabbinical learning and also acquired Russian and German. Hard to find in any kind of acceptable condition as the copies of this book did not survive well. Actually though not particularly good this is better than often seen. Benjamin West was a British-American artist who painted famous historical scenes such as The Death of Nelson the Treaty of Paris and Benjamin Franklin Drawing Electricity from the Sky. This is a volume of a gallery of pictures by Benjamin West which have been engraved by Henry Moses. With seventeen plates.Collated complete. Undated dated from Jisc. In full cloth binding. Externally worn. Both boards are detached and the spine is missing. The boards remain smart. Previous owner inscription to the front free endpaper dated 1845.
