A striking and very scarce collection of twenty-four lithographed views on India paper of the Seine from its source to the sea. In the original French. First published in 1829 this is an 1835 edition of this very scarce collection of engraved plates depicting the Seine and early 19th century Paris. Illustrated with a title page map and twenty-four plates by Victor Adam being lithographs on laid India paper with the publisher's blind stamp to the tail of each image. Collated complete. With a publisher's advertisement leaf to the rear. This work offers lithographic views of the Seine from its source to the sea drawn from nature by Alphonse Bichebois and Sabatier with plates completed by Victor Adam. In a half calf binding with marbled paper covered boards. Lacking lower half of back strip. Rubbing to back strip. Joints starting with front board tender and rear board firmly held. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright with significant spotting throughout. Foxing to first few leaves. Good Only Bance hardcover

En la portada una firma sobre un escudo nobiliario con el lema "Antes quebrar que torcer". La primera guarda la hoja de cortesía y la portadilla tienen una pequeña falta en la esquina superior externa pero han sido restauradas. Interior con algunas muy leves motitas de óxido. Las dos últimas hojas tienen en en borde de su margen inferior un pequeño ribete de humedad. Pero en general muy bien. Moret Munkacsy & Toudouze the plates were erased immediately after the printing of its 400 examples. Hardcover issued without DJ Shirt opening with four flaps inside closed with red ribbon. Text and etchings loose in a soft cover folder housed in cream cloth case with title and design to front board. Binding with beveled edges in very good condition with small split to bottom of spine. Inside all pages and plates in excellent clean and bright condition. Limitation page states this copy was offered to Sir Campbell Clarke 3 October 1845 - 26 August 1902 armorial bookplate of Sir Campbell Clarke is also pasted to inside front cover. Clarke was a British journalist and author. settled in Paris in 1872 as the resident correspondent of The Daily Telegraph and he served as member of the Jury at the two Paris Exhibitions of 1878 and 1889.
