Will ship rolled. <br /> <br /> Great poster from the underground cartoonist Spain Rodriguez for a tour by the San Francisco Mime Troupe featuring their political superhero. Factwino was a protagonist created in 1980 who used facts and social justice to battle misinformation and ignorance from the likes of "the Moral Majority" "Armageddonman" and others. The Mime troupe put on this series of touring musical comedies featuring their hero from 1980-85. 19813433Seattle: DIY 1981. First Printing. Very Good. Original two-color showbill measures 8.5" x 13.75". Features five nights of shows in May 1981 cover charge $3 per night. Two scuffs each the size of a nickel. Slight edge-wear. Very Good. The first billing features the Lewd then located in San Francisco with the Refuzors as supporting act. That was the infamous "Splat Went the Cat" show when Mike Refuzor wielded a roadkill cat the band chanced upon while driving to the show. Refuzor threw the cat from stage creating a scene when audience members followed suit. The U-Men not listed opened the show. Other bands include Student Nurse the Deans X-15 the Pudz Frazz the Fags and others. Danceland USA was a short-lived all-ages venue above the York Diner a 24-hour greasy spoon at First and Pike. Covers lightly rubbed; sometimes a price handwritten in the margins in ink. An unusual hand-made catalogue -- the original photographs show the posters displayed with magnets or sometimes just held up by a person standing in behind it fingers boxes of office supplies or -- once -- a chin visible. The set includes an introductory poster with questions that can be answered by history; about military events the economy politics culture foreign affairs science and technology and ethnic groups. All written in green ink the first on green paper and the other two on pink paper. The three in very good condition on lightly-aged paper. Written in an attractive calligraphic hand. ONE: She writes that she is enclosing 'four rough designs not present for the woodcut frontispiece to the "Glade sic of Glenbella' and asks to be informed by return of the firm's choice and she will 'get on with it at once'. She ends with a query about galley sheets. TWO: Docketted with brief pencil accounts. 'Thank you for sending me a copy of the Glades of Glenbella I am very pleased to have it. What a difference it makes to the "cut" to see it printed well and on really nice paper!' She asks whether the author is satisfied before apologises for asking for the block to be returned: 'had I had more time at first I should have naturally taken a small edition before handing it over'. THREE: Note. She is returning the block and thanks the firm 'for enabling me to take a small edition of prints'.
