Edizione originale splendidamente illustrata con numerose figure silografiche in nero intercalate nel testo, di cui molte anche a piena pagina. In-16 gr. bella brossura editoriale disegnata da Vinicio Paladini (1902-1971), pp. 257, con un ritratto fotografico dell’A. in b.n. fuori testo. Rara "prima edizione italiana" (anche se al frontespizio si legge “Seconda edizione”), pubblicata come numero 1 nella Collezione “Fonofilm” (collezione di saggi estetici e tecnici, diretta da Umberto Barbaro). “Vsevolod Illarionovi Pudovkin (1893-1953), regista, attore, sceneggiatore, scenografo e teorico del cinema russo. Fu uno dei primi teorici a concentrare le proprie riflessioni sulla questione del montaggio che usò secondo un percorso del tutto originale. Appartenne infatti a quella generazione di rivoluzionari del cinema che coinvolsero nel processo di definizione dell'opera lo stesso spettatore, e che videro nel montaggio (non soltanto cinematografico) il principio espressivo fondante dell'arte del 20° secolo. Fu quindi uno dei giganti del cinema sovietico cui toccò il compito storico di esprimere cinematograficamente la Rivoluzione e, al contempo, compiere una rivoluzione nel cinema stesso” (cfr. The first Jewish colony in South Jersey was located in Pittsgrove township, Salem county, in 1882. When the persecuted Jews were driven from Russia a number of wealthy and influential Hebrews in the city of New York formed the Hebrew Aid Society, whose object was to give assistance to their fellow religionists who were thus cast out from the places of their birth and compelled to seek shelter and subsistence among strangers in a strange land. Using data from the 1897 Imperial Russian Census, the author examines two types of migration: that to an already settled, relatively modern area, such as the major cities; and that to a sparsely populated, relatively traditional area, such as the agricultural frontier. Concludes that migration within European Russia and from European Russia to Asiatic Russia supports the model. Book clean and unmarked with negligible wear.
