The book composed of reports from the conference titled "The International Symposium on the Baymirza Hayit the 100th Anniversary of his Birth and Today's Turkestan Studies" organized in cooperation with the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), Istanbul University, Mimar Sinan University, Rumeli University of Istanbul, Turkish Historical Society and Turk Ocaklari Istanbul branch was published by the TDBB. In the book, there are nine reports composed of sessions and the special sessions on Baymirza Hayit, Veli Kayyum, Mustafa Çokay, Tahir Çagatay, Cengiz Dagci, Abdulvahap Oktay, Hüseyin Ikram Han, Ziyaeddin Babakuran. The year 2017 is the 100th anniversary year of Baymirza Hayits birth (December 17, 1917 - October 31, 2006). He was born in Namangan, Uzbekistan and during the Second World War, he was captured by the Germans, where he stayed to finish his Ph.D. studies in history. After finishing the studies he made significant contributions to Turkish history. For this purpose, a book from the International Symposium that was organized in Istanbul for the sake of evaluating the life and works of the historian Hayit, who made great contributors in clarifying the history of the Central Asian Turkish Republics during the Tsarist and Soviet periods, is prepared for the readers. In the papers that were presented at the symposium 35 historians and writers from countries such as, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Turkmenistan, USA, Germany, and Turkey are examining the point where the Turkistan Historical Research nowadays is.
