A picture of this book is available upon request by email. Neate W78, citing only the American edition: 'Includes account of early Mont Blanc ascents, reproductions of some of Auldjo's engravings, an account of early ascents of the Jungfrau, selections of mountain poetry, etc'. A well-illustrated work that also includes a brief directions for travellers, descriptions of each region in some detail, with approximately a quarter of the content on Italy. The illustrations include numerous views such as Basel, Bern, Brixen, Chamonix, Como, Erlenbach, Geneva, Grindelwald, Interlaken, Lugano, Milan, Padua, Reichenau, Schaffhausen, Schlanders, Trient, Venice, Verona, Zug, etc. No copies are listed in auction records of the last 26 years.
