This is a complete monthly issue, containing the above mentioned account. Attractively bound booklet style in recent blue paper covers with label. This issue contains an earth science study on the formation of our planet's surface, using the areas of the Baltic Ocean (Ostsee), and the region between Hannover and Köln, as examples. Accompanied by a charming map showing the course of the lower Lahn River and its tributaries, mainly Ohm, Wieseck, Kleebach, Dill, Solmsbach, Weil, Elbbach, and Aar. Also showing part of the Rhine river and the Moselle, a tributary of the Rhine, joining it at Koblenz. These are the original pages printed in 1807, and NOT a reprint. This narrative is from a rare multi-volume geographical and scientific journal titled "Allgemeine Geographische Ephemeriden", which issued fifty volumes from 1798-1816 and which encompassed critical contemporary topics of geography and astronomy. Adam Christian Gaspari and Franz Xaver von Zach were editors of this important scientific journal.

Prima che sorgesse la domanda se l'Europa possa essere qualcosa di più di un'unione economica e monetaria, Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) ha proposto l'affascinante ideale culturale del "buon Europeo". Vi è giunto - questa l'ipotesi fondamentale del volume - riprendendo un'impostazione di pensiero sorprendentemente vicina a quella di Johann Gottfried Herder (1744-1803). Sia l'ideale del "buon Europeo" sia quello herderiano "dell'Umanità" acquisiscono infatti plausibilità solo al seguito di un articolato percorso in cui la riflessione sull'origine del linguaggio si collega non solo ad un'antropologia filosofica d'ispirazione naturalistica, ma anche a un radicale esercizio del senso storico. In tale prospettiva, "buono" è l'Europeo che non rinnega le sue molteplici origini e provenienze, ma, confrontandosi criticamente con esse, vi riconosce gli elementi vitali di una mobile e problematica identità.

Orah! : A Call to the American Orthodox, by Rabbi Pinchas Teitz (1908-1995) , an influential orthodox American rabbi, who came to America in 1933, and was instrumental in founding the modern Torah community in Elizabeth, NJ, where two mikvaos, three schools, and five shuls form a united JEC, Jewish Educational Center. Seeing a need for a national awakening of Orthodox Jewry in America, he published in Elul 5696 (1936) the first of a series of booklets entitled Urah Awaken as a call to teshuva. (Jewish Observer, June 1996, An Appreciation of Rabbi Mordechai Pinchas Teitz zt"l by Rabbi Yaakov M. Dombroff) Rabbi Teitz was famous for his Yiddish radio broadcasts, and for his 22 visits to the Soviet Union to help preserve and renew the religious jewish communities there.
