With Respectful Compliments and good wishes of the Author. Kinnell 31 Oct 1867" Author is given as by a Clergyman to which is annotated "of the church of Scotland" in the same hand as the inscription on the prior page. Im guessing Kinnell is The town in Scotland and home of the Author. Alexander Berry was a wealthy merchant Member of the Legislative Council and landowner Born in Fife Scotland in 1781 died 1873. Also inscribed at the end of the preface in the same hand " Kinnell = Manse 12 April 1860 George Walker" The preface also contains a few correction made by the author in 1860.
