18933105<p>A superlative copy of the rare first edition 1893 written anonymously by a Church of England clergyman aiming to convince readers through a record of experiences séances psychic phenomena that the dead do communicate with the living. This is a really good copy and very rare in this condition. Uncut pages are excellent: no inscriptions no note no labels or stickers no widespread facing at all. FEPs have some darkening but otherwise pages have just general age wear. All pages present and well bound. Includes illustrations of apparent spirit writing. Very unusual to see such a clean copy of this edition. Binding is excellent and tight unlike many copies. Black boards are very clean and tidy for their age: a couple of light marks to spine and front and minor corner crumpling but otherwise just minor age wear. Red lines are still lovely and clear as is the ornamental gilt. See photos which show the book in clear detail. All photos are of the copy for sale we don't use stock photos.
