An attractively designed booklet advertising the Rio Chemical Company's Celerina a "nerve tonic stimulant and spasmodic" containing "celery coca kola viburnum and aromatics. "It is recommended in cases of "impotency spermatorrhea loss of nerve power nervous headache neuralgia paralysis dysmenorrhea hysteria opium habit inebriety prostatitis dyspepsia and all languid and debilitated conditions of the system." With slight oxidation to the staples and some light wear to the wrapper's crease; near fine. OCLC locates no copies of this but one each of three other Celerina promotional publications. Restoration carried out by us:- New leather head caps to both vols and new leather tail cap to Vol I - both vols have been hand re- lettered in gold leaf. NB The leather had clearly not been treated/ handled for many years resulting in it becoming dry and powdery. We have given it a proprietary dressing and waxed which has significantly improved the condition. Sewing cords and binding generally sound. Armorial book plates Same to both front paste downs.
