Two issues of the very rare internal bulletin of the Republican Club which was founded in West Berlin in April 1967 by Hans Magnus Enzensberger Johannes Agnoli and others as a non-student group of the Extra-Parliamentary Opposition APO. The writer Enzensberger was at that time the editor of the cultural journal "Kursbuch" published by Suhrkamp Verlag and the political scientist Agnoli had a considerable influence on the left-wing student movement with his parliamentary-critical radical democratic texts. The club's members included left-wing socialists mainly from the radicalized formerly social democratic student association SDS as well as left-wing liberals from the liberal party FDP. The different factions were united by their rejection of the so-called "grand coalition" between the Social Democrats and Christian Democrats.<br /> <br /> The club was a discussion and gathering point for intellectuals from various opposition groups. Other members included the left-wing lawyer and later RAF accomplice Horst Mahler the later RAF lawyer and interior minister in reunified Germany Otto Schily and the chairman of the liberal party FDP in Berlin. The club was based in a spacious twelve-room apartment in an upscale area near Berlin's prestigious Kurfürstendamm boulevard. The doors were open every evening except one day a week. Members each of whom needed three guarantors had access to discussions catering a library and a reading room with international newspapers and periodicals. With the protests of 1968 and the radicalization of students the structure of the Republican Club changed significantly. Bourgeois liberal members became increasingly alienated. From that point on the club no longer saw itself as a forum for free debate and reflection by individual actors but as a political space for networking and organizing left-wing groups. Cf. Großformatige Blätter waren gerollt vereinzelt leichte Gebrauchsspuren an den Kanten sonst wohlerhalten. Der Berliner Architekt Hermann Fehling 1909-1996 zeichnete für viele herausragende Bauten in West-Berlin nach 1945 verantwortlich. So etwa für das Studentendorf Schlachtensee Gebäudeensemble das Institut für Hygiene und Mikrobiologie der Freien Universität Berlin und das Max-Planck-Institut für Bildungsforschung allesamt Beispiele für die sogenannte Nachkriegsmoderne in Deutschland und heutzutage als erhaltenswerte Denkmäler eingestuft. Seit Anfang der 1960er Jahre war Hermann Fehling auch Mitglied der Akademie der Künste Berlin/West. Hier liegt aus Fehlings Nachlass ein Konvolut von etwa 30 Blatt oft überaus großformatig mit Entwürfen zum Projekt Mensa II der TU Berlin vor. Die Entwürfe stammen aus verschiedenen Entwicklungsstufen. Es stehen Vorentwurf geänderter Entwurf und anderes auf den Blättern. Es sind Außenansichten und Entwürfe einzelner Ebenen wie Parkhaus/Parkgeschoss/Speisesaal darunter. Auch gibt es Handzeichnungen ohne angegebene Titel und Maße im Blatt. Die Entwürfe wurden oft mit handschriftlichen Ergänzungen versehen. Teils sind sie unten rechts von den Architekten signiert. Die Maße der Blätter reichen von 21 x 29 cm über zumeist 48 x 65 cm bis hin zu Blättern die eher 70 x 120 cm groß sind. Alle Blätter waren lange Zeit gerollt die Originalpapprolle mit Fehlings Adresse ist noch vorhanden. Neben diesen Blättern sind auch noch ca. 10 Seiten Schriftgut zum damaligen Projekt von Seiten der Senatsverwaltung vorhanden. Die Architekten haben den damaligen Wettbewerb gewonnen umgesetzt wurde der ambitionierte Bau jedoch nicht. Original-Entwürfe aus dem Nachlaß des Architekten Hermann Fehling! unknown

Maßstab 1 : 20.000. (Mappe: ca. 33,5 x 21,6 cm) / (Plan: ca. 84 x 112,50 cm). Mappe mit 1 Plan. Grüne Leinenmappe der Zeit mit handschriftlicher Deckelbeschriftung auf montiertem Schildchen und dem ausfaltbaren mehrfarbigen Plan im Inneren. Mappe leicht berieben, innen mehrere alte Archiv- Stempel, Plan auf Leinen montiert, mehrfach gefaltet. Auch an den Faltlinien noch gut erhalten, Farben mit Frische und Intensität. Altersentsprechend sehr guter Zustand. Der Bauzonenplan aus dem Jahr 1925 entstand infolge des sogenannten Groß-Berlin Gesetzes (1920) und der damit einhergehenden neuen Baugesetzgebung und Stadtplanung. Der Plan unterteilte die Gebiete der Stadt in Zonen von unterschiedlich zulässiger Bautätigkeit. Diese Planung wurde erst durch die Bautätigkeit der nationalsozialistischen Regierung sowie später durch Kapitulation und Stadtteilung nach 1945 abgelöst. Hier liegt der Plan für den Stadtbereich Nordost (Prenzlauer Berg, Friedrichshain, Weissensee, Lichtenberg, Hohenschönhausen, Marzahn und umliegende Gebiete) vor. Der Plan ist noch überaus gut erhalten, auch die Farben der separierten Bauzonen wirken frisch und intensiv. Der ausgefaltete Plan hat ein Maß von 84 x 112,50 cm auf belastbarem Leinenhintergrund. Er wurde zeitgenössisch in einer handschriftlich beschrifteten Leinenmappe montiert und ist leichterhand auf volle Größe ausfaltbar. Mappe und Plan tragen im Inneren kleine Stempel einer Berliner Institution der Zwischenkriegszeit, deren Existenz durch NS-Regime, später Besatzung und Teilung des Landes beendet wurde. Diese Einrichtung war es auch, die den Plan nach Erscheinen einbinden ließ, was den sehr guten Zustand erklärt.
