Powell served thoughout the battle and was one of the lucky ones; he escaped back across the Rhine on 25 September. As 'Tom Angus' he wrote 'Men at Arnhem' (1976). Includes aspects of the infamous 'Englischer Spiel' by means of which Hermann Giskes played a deadly and all-too-successful radio hoax with SOE in London (Giskes' own account was published as 'London Calling North Pole').
