He apologizes for not being able to attend the dinner "but I hope to meet you on another visit to the United States of America." Signed "AJD" with his initials as Burgomaster Mayor of Amsterdam. Seltene Festschrift zum zehnjährigen Bestehen des traditionsreichen Amsterdamer Tuschinski-Theaters. Das Tuschinski-Theater wurde nach den Plänen des Architekten Hijman Louis de Jong für Abraham Icek Tuschinski, einen polnisch-jüdischen Emigranten, der bereits in Rotterdam mehrere Lichtspielhäuser führte, errichtet. Das Tuschinski-Theater, das neben Film- und Varietevorführungen auch als Konzertstätte bekannt war, galt seiner Zeit als eines der luxuriösesten Filmtheater. Es war einer der ersten Häuser in Amsterdam, das komplett mit Strom ausgestattet war und bereits über eine Klimaanlage verfügte, bei der Luft über Eisblöcke geleitet wurde, um den Kinosaal abzukühlen. Ebenso die technische Entwicklung trieb der Filmmagnat A. Tuschinski voran und führte schließlich auch den Tonfilm in den Niederlanden an. Zum zehnjährigen Jubiläum malte der Rotterdamer Künstler Pieter den Besten (1894-1972) als Geschenk für Tuschinski, zehn lebensgroße Frauenfiguren im Art-Deco-Stil an den Wänden des Kinosaals. - Vorliegende Jubiläumsschrift mit zahlreichen, abgedruckten Gratulationsschreiben (Faksimile) von diversen Filmfirmen und Schauspielern der Zeit, darunter Charlie Chaplin, Marlene Dietrich, George Bancroft etc., einer Liste der gespielten Filmtitel sowie unterschiedlichen Textbeiträgen (von Tuschinski, Max Tak).
