Livre quasi carré oblong de 22,5 x 23 cm pour 252 pp. Photos d'un Brésil en pleine transformation, des années 1950 où Rio de Janeiro était encore la capitale à la fin de la construction de Brasília, capitale conçue par le légendaire Oscar Niemeyer. Avant-propos de Sandra Gonczarowska Mussi et d'Andrey Rosenthal Schlee. "À travers ses photos, Jankiel Gonczarowska nous offre des fragments d'une réalité organisée et reflétée dans son art à partir d'une vision personnelle saisissante à propos de laquelle il confirme, selon ses propres termes, que pour être un bon photographe il faut se consacrer au métier, entrer en contact avec les gens avant de les photographier et parcourir le monde... Forewords by Sandra Gonczarowska Mussi and Andrey Rosenthal Schlee. "Through his photographs, Jankiel Gonczarowska offers us fragments of a reality organized and reflected in his art from a striking personal vision about which he confirms, in his own words, that to be a good photographer you have to dedicate yourself to the profession, get in touch with people before photographing them and travel the world... My goal in creating this book was to make everyone discover this human journey marked by optimism and the history of a better Brazil, at a time when the difference between classes was striking, but each class had its beauty." (Preface) The author had the opportunity to rub shoulders to Niemeyer, President Juscelino Kubitschek and visit several places in Brasília then closed to the public, such as the Alvorada Palace. The photos suddenly change from black and white to color during the 1960s. A remarkable album, rare above the Equator.
