Gilt lettering and decorations to front board and spine. Deep beige end papers. Text is age-toned. light spotting prevails but does not affect text. The first poem is titled "Acadia" followed by "Sable Island" "The Stewiake"river "Melville Island". Melville Island was used as a prison during the War of 1812-1815. There is further along a poem titled "The Micmac". Overall the book is a wonderful collection of work by this well known Canadian Statesman!. The book is attractive and sound. A lightly worn non-circulating ex-library copy with usual markings.
