Während dieser Zeit entstanden ca. 40.000 Fotos von den fünf New Yorker Bezirken. Seine Lieblingsmotive waren sein Heimatort Staten Island sowie die Häfen New Yorks. Sperrs schlichte, aber stimmungsvolle Fotobände und -broschuren sind heute äußerst selten. With numerous, partly full-page illustrations. Illustrated book by the New York photographer Percy Loomis Sperr (1890-1964), who became known for his numerous New York street photos, which he took from the 1920s to the 1940s for the New York Public Library. During this time around 40,000 photos of the five boroughs of New York were taken. His favorite subjects were his hometown of Staten Island and the harbors of New York. Sperr's simple but atmospheric photo books and brochures are extremely rare today.

The front wrapper is a very colorful and striking picture of the hustle and bustle of 42nd Street and Times Square. The rear colorful wrapper shows many different types of shoes for men and women. The company was founded in the late 1800s as the National Cloak & Suit and was renamed National Bellas Hess Company around 1910. It was a mail order seller of various consumer products to include men's women's and children's clothing hats gloves shoes luggage pens and pencils cosmetics jewelry clocks watches silverware tableware linen curtains dolls toys handkerchiefs blankets silk etc. Black and white illustrations throughout as well as numerous color illustrations. Each item is described and prices are shown. Light soiling; 2" closed tear at the top of the spine and the previous owner's name written in light ink along with the date. Front side offers a beautiful colorful butterfly with information about the location of J. Dean Hawley as well as what he specializes in selling printed in the wings of the butterfly. Opposite side offers information about the new celluloid eyeglass frames which a much lighter stronger and durable than others. The frames are not affected by atmospheric changes and are made with different sized frames for various face sizes. The springs on the frames will not rust and the lenses will accurately focus. The present broadside was printed to inform property owners in the towns of Masonville Tompkins Sidney and Walton in Delaware County New York that their property may be affected by the transfer of lands pursuant to the will of Martha Bradstreet. Located just south of Utica the lands within Delaware County once belonging to the noted French and Indian War hero John Bradstreet and are here noted as the legal property of one of his descendants. The transition of ownership from Bradstreet to the present heir is explained. Signed in print by the executor Thomas Cunningham. unknown books
