This book covers the state of model airplane building and flying when published. The author was with the Smithsonian Institution and prepared this book for the Playground and Recreational Association of America which conducted local and national tournaments of flying models. The Committee which operated these tournaments included Orville Wright Charles Lindberg Richard Byrd and many other important aviators. The book contains detailed plans and instruction sufficient to recreate some of these early models.
