First edition of this exceedingly scarce flight handbook for the famed North Americaqn F-86A Sabrejet swept wing fighter jet. This jet fought continual high-speed dogfights over Korea with similar swept-wing Soviet MiG-15 jet fighters and was considered the best fighter aicraft in the war. It experienced an extended production run of over 7800 aircraft through 1956 and was used in Air Forces around the world until 1994. This handbook details the capabilities for the aircraft armed with .50-caliber machine guns carrying bombs rockets or chemical tanks powered by the J47 turbojet engine operating limitations flight characteristics systems operation crew duties and all-weather operations. Many of the American pilots flying the Sabrejets during the Korean War were experienced World War II veterans. However as the war progressed increasing numbers of pilots were being trained at Nellis Air Force Base and the casualty rate for the fighters were quite high. First edition of this remarkably scarce flight manual for the famed Mustang P-51B and P-51C fighter which established Allied air superiority over Nazi Germany in World War II. The P-51B/C the Mustang Mk III was outfitted with a Rolls Royce Merlin engine allowing it to achieve remarkable performance at altitudes above 15000 feet and beginning in late 1943 were the key bomber escort fighters for the US Army Air Force 8th Air Force in raids over Germany. This flight manual prepared for Mustang pilots and ground personnel contained general descriptions of the airplane sequence of operations to be followed operation of guns bombs and radio emergency operating instructions and charts designed for long-range flying and auxiliary fuel tanks. 025632Inglewood: North American Aviation Inc. A very rare copy of an extremely interesting document. Green vinyl covershave some general darkening with rubbing to spine ends. Spine is a little cocked. Two sets of metal rings hold pages and there is some rusting to the metal ends of these rings. Plastid cover page with the words "To Keep 'Em Flying Know Your Airplane" and the wors "urgent" & "important" diagonally across. First paper page has some light spotting and there is heavy darkening to the subject tabs and the page edges but the rest of the pages are bright and clean. Sections are description location of controls operation of controls special instructions loading instructions charts index & coversion tables and emergency instructions. Please contact for pictures.
