In-8° (22,5 x 15 cm), pp. 250, (2), legatura editoriale con sovraccoperta illustrata a colori. Alcuni segni d'uso e del tempo alla sovraccoperta, in particolare, qualche strappetto, senza perdite, ai margini, rimarginati con filmoplast applicato nella parte interna, e tre piccole mancanze nel margine superiore, una nella parte che copre il piatto anteriore, una in quella che copre il dorso e una in quella che copre il piatto posteriore. Guardie e controguardie illustrate. Con 30 tavole fuori testo di illustrazioni fotografiche, delle quali 6 a colori (come da Indice delle illustrazioni a p. 249; quindi non 7 come erroneamente riportato nel frontespizio) e 32 in bianco e nero. Nella parte superiore del bordo esterno delle pagine 12-13, leggere macchie, che non interessano il testo. Nell'angolo inferiore interno del contropiatto posteriore, manca la fascetta in carta con il prezzo editoriale. Alle tavole con le illustrazioni, bordi lievemente ingialliti.
