He served as Chief Immigration Officer in Palestine under the British Mandate returning to England in 1934. He later became president of the Jewish Historical Society of England. He published studies of Palestine and Zionism as well as a history of the Jews of England. Here he claims to have written a book which has no concern with Palestine either as a religious or an archaeological centre but instead deals with the present and the future. The front paste-down bears the lovely contemporary booksellers' ticket of R. Mazin & Co. London "Publishers Booksellers Printers Bookbinders etc." displaying a banner in Hebrew. It includes background information for visits in Jerusalem Tel Aviv and its region Haifa Valley of Yisrael Nazareth Afula Beth Shean as well as some newly established villages. A small flower has been dry pressed between two leaves of this copy and is still preserved.
