Catalogue for the Palestine Exhibition and Fair in Autumn 1925; the exhibitions held in Tel Aviv would later be famously named the Levant Fair. Catalogue contains list of Exhibitors and Exhibits (organized according to product or trade) ; Contains many advertisements from the period. Exhibitions (now known as fairs) were quite successful and were ordered for tens of thousands and then hundreds of thousands of Jews, Arabs, English, and many tourists. The fair in 1932 was visited by nearly 300, 000 people. While the existence of this fair became known for the first time in Israel, their broadcasting station broadcast the events in Hebrew. This was four years before they began regular radio broadcasts in Israel by Voice Jerusalem. Fair visitors have included some very distinguished people, including British High Commissioners for Palestine Herbert Samuel (1920-1925) , Herbert Plumer (1925-1928) , John Chancellor (1928-1931) and Arthur Wauchope (1932-1937) , as well as Arab mayors of Jaffa and Jerusalem (Wikipedia, 2015) . The 3-volume "Heilige geographie of aardrijkskundige beschryving van het Joodsche land, alsmede andere landen in de H. Schrift voorkomende," is considered among his most important works. It was published in Utrecht between 1763-1768, and included a suite of 12 fine geographical maps of the Holy Land and its neighbouring lands which Bachiene made during a period of ten years, the first in as early as 1758. The map offered herewith is taken from this suite. Other important cartographic works of the Holy Land by Bachiene were included in the so-called "Jehovah Bible" i.e. "De Gansche H. Schrift, Vervattende alle de regelmatige Boeken des Ouden en Nieuwen Testaments (.) Gods Gedenk-Naam Jehovah onvertaald gehouden" published in 1762 by N. Goetzee of Gorinchem, shortly before the present map first appeared in book form. Whereas other single-sheet maps by Bachiene are in relative abundance, the works from "Heilige geographie of aardrijkskundige beschryving van het Joodsche land" are very scarce, seldom found in any state, practically unavailable in their original, uncoloured state.

The author of all titles is an important figure in the early archaeological explorations of Palestine - Gottlieb Schumacher (1857-1925), an American of German descent who lived and worked in Palestine as civil engineer, architect and archaeologist, renowned for carrying out the survey of the Golan, Hauran, and Ajlun districts (in preparation for the construction of the Damascus-Haifa railway) producing the first accurate maps of these regions, and detailed descriptions of the archaeological remains and the contemporary villages, as well as excavations of the ruins of the ancient city of Megiddo. Each title contains a fold-out map, b&w figures/illustrations and plans, except the second - "Jaulan", which contains four fold-out maps and 144 b&w figures (with all the original maps and illustrations).
