Questions range from Isnt Palestine an Arab Country? to Arent Jews a Religion, Not a Nationality? to Why Dont They Stay in Europe? to How Can Peace Be Brought to Palestine? Written with a Zionist bent for a Christian audience, Voss answers most questions in favor of Jewish nationalism. For the Arabs to permit a Jewish State in Palestine involves no sacrifice to the Arabs; on the contrary, it provides them with a progressive and democratic neighbor eager to create a joint future in which the hopes of both peoples may be realized. Includes a Statement of Principles of the American Christian Palestine Committee in which the committee declares that their support for the Jewish People is rooted in Christian values of social justice. During World War II, Dr. Voss founded and led the American Christian Palestine Committee. The group called for a Jewish national state to give refuge to survivors of the Nazi Holocaust. To that end, he became a vocal supporter of the partition of Palestine. Once Israel was established, he urged the United States to provide the aid that would enable the new state to absorb the many refugees then arriving. A Holocaust-era Philo-semitic journal, this issue includes more than a dozen articles by various authors, a letter to the editor of the New York Times, and a monthly chronicle. Winston Churchill writes one of the articles entitled Why I Am Against Partition. Topics include Double Cross De Luxe, Palestine-A Protest, a Prospect and a Compromise, and Myth of Pan-Arabia, amongst others. The proposed Jewish area at present has almost as many Arabs as Jews. These it is proposed, by peaceful lawful methods, gradually to extrude. Such a process will certainly be attended with friction and possibly with reprisals by the Arabs upon Jews who wish to dwell in the Arab zone. Here is an almost limitless vista of dangerous incidents, any one of which, under the conditions described, may become the cause, or be made the pretext, of hostile action. Includes 8 black-and-white headshots, 3 full-page maps of Palestine and the surrounding areas, and a political cartoon. It measures 3 7/8" x 5 11/16" when folded. Jaffa Gate Jerusalem Palestine. When you open it the inside has an early color map of Jerusalem Issued by Fr. Vester & Co. American Colony Stores. Jerusalem Palestine. <br/><br/>The American Colony was founded in 1881 as an independent utopian Christian sect whose religious pilgrims emigrated to Jerusalem from the United States and Sweden. At the turn of the century they became involved in the tourist trade and produced souvenirs opened a store and opened a hostel which later became the American Colony Hotel that still operate in Israel today. Una piccolissima ed ininfluente mancanza di carta al margine esterno alto di carta 17. Qualche macchiolina di foxing, più intense al frontespizio ed alle prime pagine, dovute alla qualità della carta, alcuni piccoli forellini al margine bianco basso delle prime due carte, ininfluente e per il resto in buone condizioni di conservazione. Esemplare ancora in barbe. L’opera vene stampata su carta forte. Prima rara e completa edizione, ancor più rara a reperirsi completa dei piatti originali, di questo interessante studio illustrato dedicato alla storia, all’archeologia, ai costumi, festività ed ai monumenti degli ebrei e della terra di Israele. Il volume presenta 23 magnifiche e grandi tavole che riproducono templi , planimetrie, monumenti e avvenimenti legati alla storia del popolo ebraico. Il volume si apre con la storia di Mosè. br. Questo rapporto si incentra sugli aspetti meno esaminati di quelle leggi e politiche israeliane in Cisgiordania che discriminano la popolazione palestinese a vantaggio dei coloni. Il rapporto mette in evidenza le pratiche israeliane che sembrano avere come unico scopo comprensibile la promozione della vita nelle colonie, laddove in molti casi soffoca la crescita delle comunità palestinesi e arriva a trasferirne forzosamente gli abitanti. Le politiche Israeliane controllano molti aspetti della vita quotidiana dei palestinesi che vivono in Area C e a Gerusalemme Est. Tali politiche spesso non hanno giustificazioni di sicurezza plausibili per i danni che causano: ad esempio negano l'accesso alle reti elettriche, idriche e stradali, respingono le richieste di permessi edilizi per case, scuole, ambulatori e infrastrutture, demoliscono case e perfino intere comunità. Per contro, le politiche israeliane, ad esempio gli enormi incentivi finanziari del governo, promuovono gli insediamenti ebraici e ne incoraggiano l'espansione nell'"Area C" in Cisgiordania e a Gerusalemme Est, spesso utilizzando terre e altre risorse che di fatto sono vietate ai Palestinesi. In alcuni casi, le politiche discriminatorie d'Israele hanno portato allo sgombero forzoso dei palestinesi da quelle stesse aree poi usurpate dagli insediamenti.
