1919299848New York City: P&A Photo 1919. 6 1/2†x 8 1/2†black and white photo showing some sort of official visit of an army encampment. Both American and Imperial Japanese Army uniforms of the WWI era are identifiable although the identities of those pictured are unknown. This image was never published/digitized but may be from the American/Japanese intervention in the aftermath of the Russian Revolution. ~~American Expeditionary Forces were sent to Vladivostok from 1918-1920 to stabilize the region in what is called the Siberian Intervention. Japan was allied with the US but harbored more ambitious goals in the region. This photo was likely a staged press opportunity to demonstrate cooperation between the two armies despite the tension.~~Good. Stamped on reverse by Pacific & Atlantic Photo Inc. P&A Photo unknown
