As late as 1954 in fact in celebration of the composer's 180th birthday it enjoyed a revival at La Scala with Maria Callas in the leading role.<br /> <br /> According to calendars only these two years during Spontini's time in Paris had a September 22 which fell on Wednesday. Spontini left Paris in 1819 to accept a position with the Dresden opera. unknown
