This collection contains: The Story of Amis and Amile 1898. Translated from the original Ancient French. The Tale of the King Florus and the Fair Jehane 1898. The Tale of King Coustans The Emperor 1900. Quattrocentisteria: How Sandro Betticelli Saw Simonetta in the Spring 1898. With the first three volumes being translated by William Morris an English textile designer poet artist writer and socialist activist associated with the British Arts and Crafts movement. His literary contributions helped to establish the modern fantasy genre while he campaigned for socialism in fin de siècle Great Britain. The fourth volume by Maurice Hewlett an English historical novelist poet and essayist. Bound in full vellum. Externally sound with light wear and minor bumping to the extremities. Light discolouration as is typical with ageing with marks to the boards. Internally firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light age toning to the extremities. The odd small handling mark to the endpapers with a contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown. Very Good Thomas B. Mosher hardcover
