Published by Baedeker in 1930. First published in 1867.In the publisher's original red cloth with a pictorial red wrapper. Contains a colour folding map frontispiece of Southern mainland Italy as well as fourteen other colour folding maps twelve colour plates of maps and plans as well as three monochrome plates and numerous in-text illustrations. Collated complete. This particular guidebook to Southern Italy was based off personal experience of Baedeker and his staff who frequently visited the beautiful region and were able to provide the most reliable and up to date information. This new edition contains an added new map of the east coast from Ancona to Pescara. In the publisher's original red cloth in the original pictorial red wrapper. Externally smart with minimal marks. Slight edgewear with minor burring to joints and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Wrapper is smart with the odd small mark. The odd crease and slight edgewear. Chips to the head and tail of the wrapper spine and to wrapper extremities. End papers are generally bright and clean with minimal marks and slight age toning. Guidebooks listed to front end papers and a map of Italy to rear end papers. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with minor age toning.
