Les deux tableaux dépliants devant figurer dans cette édition en lieu et place des page 381 à 384 sont ici absents. Une mouillure angulaire assez pale mais présente affecte l'ouvrage. Petite déchirure sans manque à la page de titre. Exemplaire convenable néanmoins. Botany-Bay, sur l'une des cotes orientales de l'Australie fut choisie en 1787 par l'Angleterre comme terre de déportation de ses condamnés, marquant ainsi le début de la colonisation du continent australien. Cet ouvrage fournissant de nombreux renseignements sur la vie dans cette colonie pénitentiaire et plus généralement sur l'Australie de l'époque condamne par l'exemple ce type peine comme moyen de colonisation.
