887119 September 1851; on letterhead of the Commission Scientifique pour l'exploration des Antiquités Américaines Paris. 8vo 3 pp. Bifolium. Good on lightly-aged paper. In a difficult hand. Apparently relating to a proposed meeting and dinner for 'tous les trois' including '<Bourlier>'. It is curiously difficult to discover anything either about Würtz or about the Commission. 19 September 1851; on letterhead of the Commission Scientifique pour l'exploration des Antiquités Américaines, Paris. unknown
13558Without place or date. New York 1871. 1p. 12mo. Good on lightly-aged and creased paper. The letter begins: 'I beg a thousand time pardon dear Mr Cartwright for my coming too late yesterday at your house. I intended coming at half past twelve; but the enormous distance which separates the different points of your metropolis was the cause of my coming much later than that time.' At the risk of disturbing Cartwright further he suggests that he comes 'to town before Friday next . Wednesday there will be a great review of troops for the Grand-duke.' He believes that this will not take place before noon but 'At all events if you fix me an hour I sall come at it.' The reference in the letter would appear to be to the visit of the Grand Duke Alexei Alexandrovich Romanov to New York in November 1871. Without place or date. [New York, 1871?] unknown
929623 January 1919; on letterhead of the Savile Club Piccadilly. 12mo 1 p. Twelve lines of text. Clear and complete. Good on lightly-aged and creased paper. Perhaps referring to George's 'Blind Alley' or 'Eddies of the Day' both published in 1919. 23 January 1919; on letterhead of the Savile Club, Piccadilly. unknown
