Near Fine in Very Good dj. nice tight copy minimal shelfwear modest age-toning to fore-edge; the jacket is a bit edgeworn and lightly scuffed with a soft vertical crease in the front panel tiny bits of paper loss at the spine ends. B&W photographs Libretto no music for the musical play about well Benjamin Franklin's visit to Paris in 1776 and 1777. The original Broadway production which starred Robert Preston as Franklin Preston with a capital P and that rhymes with B and that stands for Ben! ran for a respectable 215 performances during the 1964/65 season. It was nominated for one Tony Award Michaels for Best Author Musical but is mostly notable as the first Broadway musical set during the Revolutionary War predating "1776" by five years and "Hamilton" by a lot more than that. This was a review copy and has the original publisher's slip laid in; although not marked as such this copy comes from the collection of longtime New York Times film critic Bosley Crowther. .
