Attraverso il suono l'essere umano si relaziona con gli altri, delimita contesti che risuonano della sua lingua e dei suoi usi - ecco perché proprio il suono è spesso al centro di delicate questioni riguardanti la gestione e la condivisione degli spazi. Suoni e sonorità possono dunque definire l'identità del contesto in cui si manifestano? Sono i singoli suoni a individuare l'identità acustica di uno spazio oppure, viceversa, è lo spazio stesso a conferire ai suoni un carattere preciso e irripetibile, modellandoli e trasformandoli in accordo con l'ambiente che li ospita? Del tema della relazione fra identità sonora e paesaggio sonoro si è occupato il VII Simposio Internazionale del Forum Klanglandschaft - FKL: Forum per il Paesaggio Sonoro - intitolato "Soundscapes and Sound Identities", che si è svolto in Trentino, presso il Castello di Beseno, nel maggio 2015.

RARE EDITION of a selection from 'Irish Melodies' by Thomas Moore (1779-1852) - an Irish poet, singer, songwriter, and entertainer, best known for 'Irish Melodies' (published also under various titles, such as 'Songs of Ireland', 'Irish Tunes' etc.) which became enormously popular throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, for example 'Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms', which is included in this volume. Moore began writing these poems following a request by the publishers James and William Power to write lyrics to a series of Irish tunes with Sir John Andrew Stevenson as arranger of the music, and eventually the poems were published in ten volumes and a supplement between 1808 and 1834, the musical arrangements of the last volumes after Stevenson's death (1833) being done by Henry Bishop. Contains b&w figures as illustrations on most pages. 150x100 mm. 64 pages. Brown leather gilt Hardcover. Cover and cover edges rubbed. Light ink stains on rear cover.
