100527Laaber Figaro-Verlag 2018. . Faksimiledruck des Autographs von einem der meistgespielten Klavierkonzerte Beethovens. Die frühen Entwürfe reichen bis 1796 zurück; die Drucklegung erfolgte 1804. Das Autograph wurde während des Zweiten Weltkrieges zunächst von Berlin nach Schloß Fürstenstein dann ins schlesische Kloster Grüssau und nach 1945 die Bibliothek Jagiellónska in Krakau verlagert. 1977 wurde das Autograph von Polen der DDR als Geschenk übergeben und liegt seitdem wieder in der Musikabteilung der Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin Preußischer Kulturbesitz. - Kommentar und Vorwort in deutscher und englischer Sprache. - Sehr gutes Exemplar ohne Lesespuren. Stegman Kinsky 142.<br style="">The op. 59 quartets were commissioned by the Russian ambassador to Vienna Count Andreas Razumovsky and are the first of what are now generally known as the "Middle Period" string quartets. The bindings measure about 12 inches tall by 9 3/8 inches wide. Hardcovers bound in green cloth. The bindings are moderately rubbed and worn. Volumes 1 & 2 are thicker and show greater wear. In Volume 2 the gutter between the front flyleaf and the title page is cracking with the muslin exposed and the board loosening. There is a tear in the cloth at the headcap of Volume 4. A couple other volumes are a bit shaken. Some of the text is bright and some is toned. No copyright date. This was likely published in the first decade or two of the 20th century. Volume 1 has a brief introduction by Dr. Walter Niemann in English German and French. Dr. Walter Niemann 1876-1953 was German composer and music critic who earned his degree from the University of Leipzig in 1901. <br/> <br/> C. F. Peters hardcover
