Prima edizione. Con i nomi degli attori e dei ballerini. "La musica è tutta nuovamente composta dal celebre Sig. Baldassare Galuppi, detto Buranello". Raro, non censito in ICCU.
Grand in-8, broché, xii, (2), 329 p., exemplaire non coupé. Edition originale et unique illustrée de "80 figures d'idées et exemples géométriques et musicaux". Elève de Massenet et admirateur de Wagner, Émile Chizat (1855-1924) obtint, comme compositeur un grand succès populaire. Il livre ses théories d'une "esthétique musicale nouvelle" fondée sur une cosmogonie singulière qui le rattache aux "fous littéraires". "Son approche consiste à une révision du premier type de musique planétaire qui compare les distances des planètes aux intervalles sur une corde hypothétique. Contrairement aux théoriciens grecs et médiévaux, dont le système musical a été limité à deux ou trois octaves, Chizat trouve faut plus de sept octaves pour transcrire les intervalles des planètes de Mercure à Neptune, y compris les astéroïdes Hungaria, Vesta, Cérès, Psyché, et Ismène, et de découvrir qu'ils se mettaient en place en un accord majeur gigantesque" (cf. Recueil de 6 vaudevilles et comédies légères, composés par Racot de Grandval, illustrés de planches et bandeaux gravés, accompagnés de partitions, paroles et musiques. Compositeur, claveciniste et auteur dramatique, Nicolas Racot de Grandval (1676-1753) rejoignit Dancourt à la Comédie-Française. Dans le même temps, il accompagnait, au clavecin, la plupart des divertissements et ballets donnés à Versailles. Auteur de nombreuses comédies, il composa également la musique de plusieurs pièces, notamment pour Dancourt et Marc-Antoine Legrand. Rousseurs, mors lég. frottés, sinon bon exemplaire, bien relié à l'époque.

Gressent raconte sa rencontre avec Jamard et relate les difficultés que celui-ci rencontra pour retrouver un exemplaire de son propre livre, après qu'il eut été dépossédé de sa bibliothèque lors de la Révolution. 2 derniers feuillets d'index et privilège manquent. Exemplaire entièrement non rogné.

Very Good French Original business card. Slightly stained. 5x8,5 cm. In Arabic and French. On card, engraved his tughra (dated 1331 Hegira), and the sign of Lahej sultanate. No photo. Lahej was a Sheikdom based in Lahej in Southern Arabia. The Sultanate became self-ruled in 1728 and gained independence in 1740. In 1839, the Sultanate became the Protectorate of Aden of the British Empire, though nominally the 'Abdali Sultan retained his status. The the Protectorate of Aden was briefly ruled again by the Ottomans during World War I, but regained by the British and absorbed into Federation of South Arabia in 1963. The 'Abdali dynasty was officialy abolished in 1967, through the proclamation by South Yemen. Hegira: 1331 = Gregorian: 1915.
Six volumes. A very scarce and extensive bibliography of opera from its beginnings in Paris (in 1671) to 1849. 529 items described, most at great length. Includes details about both manuscript and printed material, about performers, and about whether and when each opera was performed and the length of its run. Biographical notes at end of each volume. Each volume with an etched portrait by Le Rat. Volumes 1-3 are each one of 100 copies on Holland laid paper. Volumes 4-6 are printed on fine wove paper. Two further volumes were published, one covering 1849-1876 and the other an appendix. 8vo, uncut in original wraps (volumes 4-6 unopened as well). Wraps with some minor tears but still bright. Internally fine.

Interni buoni. Fotografia originale ben conservata con leggere tracce del tempo, alcune minime tracce di sporco e leggera ombra di gora che non compromette l'immagine, poche minime abrasioni e difetti ai margini e agli angoli del supporto in cartoncino (vedi foto).
