DL consignment. Shelved in Case 0. Louise Glück was born on April 22 1943 in New York City to parents of Russian and Hungarian Jewish descent. Glück was taught Greek mythology and classic stories from a young age which greatly influenced her works. Glück began writing poetry in highschool eventually taking some poetry classes and attending workshops where she more deeply developed her craft. After a tumultuous life and career Glück finally began seeing wider success in her work in the 1990's. That success however came with personal pains which she channeled into her work producing a collection of essays in 1994 titled "Proofs & Theories: Essays on Poetry" 1389597.
