Cfr. Bitting, p. 192 che precisa: “Vicaire gives two titles by Gonet, the first "Repertoire de la cuisine simplifiée" (1872), the second a reprint (1884) with the title "La cuisinière universelle", etc., but does not mention the present one, which Nourry lists as about 1860”. Nella seconda parte “s’insegna a cucinare ogni vivanda di latticini, erbe, pesce, e salumi, coll’aggiunta di mettere in pratica, e lavorare ogni sorta di commestibili da credenza, e vantaggioso non meno a giovani servitori, e a donne di cucina, ma ancora a tutti quelli che vogliono applicare a simile mestiere”. L’Autore, Joseph Von Quarin (1733-1814), medico viennese, fu “consigliere aulico ed archiatro di Sua Sacra Cesarea Regia Apostolica Maestà. Direttore supremo nello Spedal Generale di Vienna, membro di varie accademie”. Qualche lieve alone al margine interno, altrimenti esempl. ben conservato.

Due importanti dissertazioni del professore di medicina e botanica Sauvages de la Croix (1706-1767), per oltre 30 anni all’università di Montpellier. Autore di numerosissimi scritti, tentò, nella sua celebrata ‘Pathologia methodica seu de cognoscendis morbis’ (1759), di classificare le malattie da un punto di vista biologico. Così Diz. Treccani,X, p. 851. Corto del margine super., frontesp. arross., con aloni interc. nel t., ma complessivam. discreto esemplare.

A picture of this The author, an engineer, won a prize for this work at the London Mechanics' Institution in 1833. "Steam, all powerful steam', as the work begins, and the steam engine, was the foundation of the industrial revolution, and is here described in detail. The plates are of different types of steam engines and related equipment and applications, including one of a locomotive. The collation of the plates is identical to that of the British Library copy.
