250 pages. Index. Author inscribed and signed the front free endpaper with the name 'Kenny'. Laid inside front cover is a letter from author to a friend apparently affiliated with the Salt River Valley Water Users' Association. This interesting letter is also signed "Kenny." According to the letter, it would appear that a total of three unnamed authors are responsible for this work. True to its title, this excellent reference includes the following chapters, most of which are broken down into many sub-chapters: Well Designs (gravel envelope, naturally developed); The Engineer's Decision - Selection of Design; General Considerations; Scope of Work and Qualifications; Casing and Screen; Drill Fluid; Drilling and Logging; Formation Stabilizer and Filter Pack; Preliminary Well Development; Development and Test Pumping; Logs and Records; The Owner, The Engineer, and the Well. Appendix A - Preparing Specifications. Appendix B- Casing Collapse Strength. Book clean, bright and unmarked with very light wear. Light wear to dust jacket which is preserved in a Brodart cover. An extra special copy of this otherwise rare and highly technical yet thorougly practical work. Book
98 pages plus two pages of advertisements. Six black and white fold-out plates. Text divided into the following parts: Losses in Gold Amalgamation; Treatment of Gold Ores; Concentration of Gold and Silver Ores; Methods of Concentration. 191615490New Haven Connecticut : Roger Sherman Studio 1916. First Edition. Photograph. Near Fine. First Edition. An original silver print mounted on board. Image is 10 1/2 inches x 13 1/2 inches. Overall mount size 13 3/4 x 16 3/4 inches. Very nice tonality presents nicely in person. Photograph. A photograph of what is no doubt the 1916 Civil Engineering class at Yale showing students teachers and the" tools of the trade". It was taken in front of Winchester Hall then part of Yale's Sheffield School of Engineering. The building is no longer standing but we have included an reproduced image of the building for the new owner's reference. <br /> <br /> Much like medical class photographs which are prized for skeletons and other medical oddities collectors prize surveying instrumentation in Civil Engineering class photographs. This one has lots of great surveying instruments including four instruments on tripods surveying sticks an axe and a model of a bridge span. Several equations are chalked on the building pillars. "FUNDAMENTALS" is chalked on the street in front of the subjects.<br /> <br /> Photographs this large are very scarce on the marketplace this is the largest we have owned in the last 15 years. A fine addition to any surveying civil engineering Yale or Connecticut collection. Roger Sherman Studio unknown

There is no work yet of this particular type published either in England or America none which deals with the subject of toothed gearing from the standpoint of the workshop and drawing-office none which goes over the whole field as this does. Only so much mathematics is introduced as is necessary to establish fundamental principles. But the practical methods of formation of tooth profiles both cycloidal and involute special forms and the employment of Willis's Odontograph have been treated fully. The various screw gears angle wheels worm wheels helical wheels etc. have received full illustration and the essential elements of the practice of machine moulding have been described." - from Preface.
