The document gives the terms of the agreement including 1a the sale of "The shares and interests of the Vendors of and in the Companies set out in the Schedule . and/or other interests of the Vendors in all other foreign companies belonging to the Dunlop-Revere Emerge- Revere and Pirelli-Revere groups ." There are seven terms and a schedule which lists various companies. The document has official stamps and concludes with the Common Seals of both parties/companies and the signatures of the seven witnesses. These signatures include "Malcolm Campbell Director". The only connection with the rubber industry that I have uncovered so far is his use of Dunlop tyres in a race. 31 May 1935. unknown

Comprising 42 leaves printed recto only viz. a title and 41 leaves of patterns numbered from 1 to 750 - there are a few numerical discontinuities though the make-up of text is tight and original and there does not appear to be any loss. One might reasonably assume that these breaks in the numbering indicate that the patterns concerned were no longer in stock. 454Colchester Connecticut. Colchester Rubber Company Black Miniature Rubber Advertising Boots<br /> <br /> 2 rubber vulcanized boots measuring approximately 2 x 2.75 inches at their widest. One boot has 1.5 inch split on front seam which is hard to discern unless in hand. Text stamped on both sides of boots. The letter "L" missing from one boot. Good condition.<br /> <br /> The Colchester Rubber Company was founded by George Watkinson in 1888 in Colchester Connecticut utilizing the former Hayward Rubber Company Factory Plant. Hayward Rubber had developed a type of vulcanized rubber which Colchester continued to market. These advertising boots likely were used by salesmen to market their products. The Colchester line of footwear were very popular in the 1880's and were on display at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893. The United States Rubber Company as part of their plan to create a rubber monopoly in the United States purchased the Colchester Company in 1892 and closed the plant in mid 1893 collapsing the economy of the small town of Colchester. <br /> <br /> A rare pair of late 19th century vulcanized rubber advertising boots from a short-lived factory in Connecticut. unknown

Three parts in one vol. 6; 4 pp unpaginated. printed in red & black illustrated; 23 dittoed leaves most illustrated 1 sample leaf w/ rubberized and neoprene coated boot bellows seals mounted on rubberized canvas sheet. Burgundy-coloured split-pin flexible binder black lettering stamped on front cover rounded corners price-list & dimension sheet laid-in still NF copy. First edition of this scarce early salesman sample catalogue for bellows seal boots used to allow ball bushings to retain their lubricant and also protect moving pistons and parts on grinding or polishing machines. These proved to be especially valuable in any industrial or manufacturing machinery for excluding dirt grime shavings and material from reciprocating shafts and bearings substantially prolonging the life and durability. The company pioneered the product following World War II initially using coated canvas fabrics and later moving to teflon silicone and and even fiberglass for manufacturing.
