Turkish folk tales were collected from the mouths of the Turkish peasantry by the Hungarian savant Dr. Ignatius Kunos, during his travels through Anatolia, 1887 and published for the first time in 1889 by the well-known Hungarian Literary Society," A Kisfaludy Tarsasag," under the Title of Torok Nepmesek ("Turkish Folk Tales"), with an introduction by Professor Vambery. That distinguished Orientalist, certainly the greatest living authority on the primitive culture of the Turko-Tartaric peoples, who is as familiar with Uzbek epics and Uiguric didactics as with the poetical masterpieces of Western Europe, is enthusiastic in his praises of these folk-tales.

Risultano mancanti le pagine 1 e 3 che corrispondono alla prima pagina di sguardia e all'occhietto o pagina pubblicitaria, il testo è completo. In mediocri condizioni. Copertina cartonata coeva in mediocri condizioni generali con usure e parti mancanti ai margini e dorso assente. Piatto anteriore staccato. Legatura quasi assente. All'interno le pagine si presentano in buone condizioni con rare fioriture. Segni di nastro adesivo a pagg. 34, 35, 36. Strappo alla penultima planche con segni di nastro adesivo. The most famous version is that of Grimm brothers. inside there are five coloured planches of which three are shaped and applied forming a tridimensional effect, some black and white in the text and out of text illustrations by Aldo Silipigni. Unfortunately pages 1 and 3 corresponding to the first endpage and false title page are missing, the text is complete. In poor conditions. Full carton coeval cover in poor general conditions with wearings and missing parts in the edges and spine missing. Front plate is detached. Binding is almost missing. Inside pages are in good conditions with occasional foxings. Signs of adhesive tape in pag. 34, 35, 36. Tear in the penultimate planche with signs of adhesive tape. Pages 1 and 3 are missing (corresponding to the first endpage and false title page or advertising page).
