Ci sono storie di uomini che per secoli nessuno racconta; restano nascoste nelle pieghe polverose degli annali poi, all'improvviso per qualche misteriosa coincidenza un segno, un libro, un sogno oppure un luogo accendono una scintilla e inaspettatamente riemergono dall'oblio. La straordinaria vita, avvincente e intensa, di Angelo Clareno, spirituale francescano venuto ad Assisi dalla Marca Anconetana vissuto fra il 1254 (?) e il 1337, è ricostruita dall'autrice seguendo percorsi insoliti spesso occasionali. Vita eroica quella di Clareno, incredibilmente densa di avventure e traversie patite con tanti compagni rimasti rigorosamente fedeli al dettato autentico del santo Francesco come Jacopone da Todi...
br. A cinquanta anni dalla sua morte, viene qui riproposta la figura del Cardinale Angelo Dell'Acqua, Vicario Generale per la Diocesi di Roma. Aveva scelto di essere l'uomo di un solo amore: servo di un solo amore. In un mondo in cui i cattivi esempi, gli scandali, si moltiplicano, Angelo Dell'Acqua ha lasciato un esempio di coerenza cristiana e di autentico stile sacerdotale. Per un modello positivo e attraente di sacerdote, uno "dei più bravi!". Affinché il suo esempio susciti tanti generosi imitatori!
br. Sin da fanciullo angelo Giardino nutriva nel suo cuore un ardente amore verso Dio. Dall'età di dieci anni ed ogni anno fino alla fine dei suoi giorni terreni, dal 1° giugno al 10 luglio non ingeriva alcuna bevanda trovando refrigerio solo nella Santa Comunione quotidiana. Lo accompagnavano meravigliosi doni spirituali: apparizioni, profezie, messaggi, grazie ecc. Anche oggi, dal Cielo, intercede in maniera sorprendente.

Egli si immerse nella faticosa missione della denuncia dei mali della società, indicando percorsi utili da seguire e strategie da attuare per affrontare e, possibilmente, superare gli ostacoli che fomentavano il rapporto fra la Chiesa e la società. L'operato dello Struffolini, permette di cogliere la mens che contraddistinse il modo di agire del religioso e del vescovo, profondamente unito al Papa e al suo magistero.
