br. La vita di Teresio Olivelli (1916-1945) è un percorso verso la santità, nel segno di un fortissimo impegno umano e morale. Medaglia d'oro al valore della Resistenza e Servo di Dio, per lui è in atto il processo di beatificazione. Giovane di grande intelligenza e passione umana e cristiana, formatosi nel mondo delle organizzazioni cattoliche (AC, San Vincenzo, FUCI), alunno del Collegio Ghislieri a Pavia, città dove frequentò la Facoltà di Giurisprudenza, si illuse di poter modificare il regime fascista dall'interno, dandogli un'anima di autentica giustizia umana e sociale. Durante la II guerra mondiale, volle combattere fra gli alpini sul fronte russo e visse la drammatica ritirata dell'ARMIR. Tornato in patria, chiuse i conti con il fascismo. Concepì il sogno di un'Italia «più libera, più giusta, più solidale, più "cristiana"» e vi si dedicò strenuamente, militando, nella Resistenza, fra le file delle Fiamme Verdi. Arrestato e deportato, morì in un lager nel gennaio del '45, a 29 anni, per le percosse ricevute da un Kapò che lo aveva sorpreso ad assistere un compagno malato.
br. Il 3 febbraio 2018, a Vigevano, è avvenuta la beatificazione di Teresio Olivelli. La Chiesa lo indica così come modello da imitare, come persona che, nel sacrificio supremo in un lager tedesco, ha compiuto il senso della propria esistenza, immolandosi per gli altri. L'attiva partecipazione alla vita dell'Azione cattolica e della Fuci non gli ha impedito di aderire al fascismo, fino ad arruolarsi volontario per combattere sul fronte russo, dove però ha potuto constatare di persona la devastazione materiale, morale e umana causata dalla folle politica fascista. Tornato in patria, Olivelli ha aderito alla Resistenza, diventando "ribelle per amore", fino all'offerta completa di sé nel famigerato lager di Hersbruck. Il libro ricostruisce in modo corretto e completo la vicenda biografica di colui che don Mazzolari ha definito «lo spirito più cristiano del nostro secondo Risorgimento».
