In questa nuova edizione gli aspetti molecolari e cellulari delle neuroscienze sono stati ampliati fornendo maggiori dettagli sulla segnalazione, sui fattori di trascrizione, le cellule staminali, i potenziali evocati, le funzioni neuronali e gliali oltre ad una serie di recenti progressi che permettono una migliore comprensione delle condizioni fisiologiche e patologiche del sistema nervoso.
