18624402Paris 1862. Tinted lithograph 18 x 26.5 cm blank verso. From Vues de Londres by Charles Francois Riffardeau Duc de Riviere. An interesting technical feature of these views is the presence of tiny pinholes used acive correct register in overlaying the separate tints. These printers marks are usually to be found at the corners of the print but are here cleverly concealed in appropriate parts of the picture - on the bowsprit of a ship at the hub of a wheel the bullseye of a lantern or pierced through a childs balloon. The views themsleves are lively and pleasing with bustling crowds in the foreground of each. Print unknown
