B&W photographs endpaper maps Non-fiction account of New York detectives Eddie Egan and Sonny Grosso and their pursuit of an international heroin smuggling ring. The "Best Picture" Oscar-winning film was directed by William Friedkin with Gene Hackman as the Egan-based character "Jimmy 'Popeye' Doyle" in the film and Roy Scheider as his partner "Buddy 'Cloudy' Russo" the slightly-fictionalized version of Grosso. Both Egan and Grosso also had small roles in the movie. An exceptionally nice copy of a book on which the jacket is often seen scuffed and worn. . Little, Brown and Company hardcover books
