Giulio Giannini Jr. 1901 – 1992 was known for using the difficult technique of leather insets in bookbinding creating a mosaic effect with different colored swatches of leather. The binding here employs decorated fabric bands laid down horizontally and secured with leather ties. Giulio Giannini e Figlio founded in Florence in 1865 is a custom maker of handmade books journals and fine papers.<br /> <br /> Profusely illustrated with color woodcut engraved prints devices and borders of peasant art from all the regions of Italy by Eleonora Gallo.
