A key account. Boyle was commissioned by Robert Measures to catalogue and describe the orchid collection at The Woodlands, his estate at Streatham in south-west London. VERY SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION.

Boyle wrote several books on orchids, of which this is his scarcest and most attractive, especially the colored plates. The stories of how the orchids were found are quite interesting. Most chapters include lists and descriptions of numerous orchid species and hybrids. Massachusetts Horticultural Society Catalogue 35. The plates include Zygo-Colax, Laelias, Cattleyas, Lycaste, Cypripediums, Odontoglossums.

Qualche sparsa giallitura appena un poco più accentuata al nono volume ma buon esemplare raramente reperibile così completo Buono (Good) . <br> <br> <br>

Originally published 1797-1807 in parts, with superb color flower plates by a number of the best artists of the day, the original, and even individual plates, are highly sought after and rare.
