This colour portrait print of the Emperor Showa and his family was published in 1933 as a January issue supplement of "Shufu no Tomo" Housewives' Companion magazine. The magazine was founded in 1917 and remained very popular throughout the Showa Era. <br> <br>The portrait by Matsuda Tomitaka who was a magazine's resident arfist features Emperor Hirohito and Empress Nagako in western clothes while their three daughters Princess Shigeko Princess Kazuko and Princess Atsuko are in kimono. Age toning to the front textblock edge. The jacket is only fair - included ofr completeness rather than quality - scuffing pen marks and a large stain to the front panel and chipping at the panel edges. 237 pp. indexed one of Barbach's earliest ground-breaking books. He describes his travel during sixteen days from Trebizond to Anvers Belgium by a ship and his memoirs in the capital of Antwerp province in the Flemish Region of Belgium. 'Eyubzade'family of Trebizond especially settled in Maçka region is a well-established and very important family that raised prominent individuals in the 18th and 19th centuries and played important roles in the social and economic life of the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey. The family served in 'Maçka voivodalik' from 1764 to 1837. In the period after the declaration of the Tanzimat the role of family members who held administrative positions in the Trabzon bureaucracy is very important as well in regard to the central administration-local bureaucracy-gentry triangle. Eyübzade Mehmed Hamdi Efendi was the writer of 'Safahat-i Hayatim' book who was also the grandfather of Bedri Rahmi Eyuboglu 1911-1975 who was a famous Turkish poet and painter. <br/> <br/> September, 17, 1928 paperback

In Ottoman script. Letterhead 'Nezâret-i Evkâf-i Humâyûn' i.e. Ministry of foundations. 1 p. including eight lines with additional annotation. Mehmed Semseddin was an Ottoman / Turkish statesman with Circassin Adige - Shapsig origin descended from Tletseruk or Tleseruk family. Mehmed Semseddin Pasha was the son of Hacizade Osman Bey who was a Circassian chieftain. In 1864 his family emigrated to Samsun and then to Istanbul in the Great Immigration of Circassians. He was graduated from Galatasaray High School. The previous owner was Fletcher M. Green a historian and writer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a faculty member from 1936 through 1960 he also served as department chair. He was quite impressive in his own right. The book is clean and has very little wear mostly a very little wear at the heel of both boards from shelving. Both front and rear paper covers are present and bound in and Mr. Green's name is written on the front paper cover. Binding is tight corners fairly sharp title in gold lettering on spine. paste downs and end papers are slightly tanned. No writing or marking to interior pages which are white.
