Discreto esemplare nel complesso. . Legatura recente in mezza pergamena con angoli titoli dorati sul dorso in quarto stretto cm 29 x 14 piatti della fragile brossura conservati all’interno pp 84 4 una partitura di due pagine e due tavole in nero. Firma di proprietà sulla brossura anteriore ampia dedica a penna datata 1936 sull’occhietto; tracce d’usura e alone sulla porzione superiore del dorso legatura un po’ allentata e piccoli difetti sui margini di alcune carte. Discreto esemplare nel complesso. Rara edizione originale di questo «Drame Ésotérique» di Jules Bois letterato francese vicino al simbolismo e ai movimenti occultisti che andavano per la maggiore nell’Europa della Belle Époque. Il volume comprende il testo eponimo e gli scritti «Confirmation de la Porte héorïque» «Le Chevalier mystique» dedicato a Odilon Redon «Glose de la Porte héroïque» «Notes nouvelles sur le Drame Ésotérique» una dedica all’amico Antoine de La Rochefoucauld autore delle due tavole che ornano il libro e una partitura di Erik Satie all’epoca maître de chapelle dell’Ordine dei Rosa Croce. Jules Bois fu letterato drammaturgo e diplomatico dalle eclettiche frequentazioni negli ambienti dell’esoterismo delle arti e del femminismo nella Parigi di fine secolo. Amico di Huysmans si avvalse della sua collaborazione per la stesura di Le Satanisme et la magie 1895; con Maurice Boukay e A. de La Rochefoucaud fondò il periodico La Coeur dedicato ad esoterismo ed arti guadagnandosi la definizione di «reporter de l’occultisme»; fu vicino allo spiritismo alla teosofia ai Rosa Croce e alla Golden Dawn. Nel 1915 iniziò una carriera diplomatica che lo portò negli Stati Uniti dove rimase fino alla morte. Librairie de l’Art Indépendant unknown

Housed in marbled paper sleeve and slipcase which nests into a clamshell box with a cut-out well for this miniature. Box is more modern. Box measures 20 by 11.5 cm.
