1869ABE-1674993669226Sampson Low London 1869 Handsome clamshell slipcase containing the highly decorated chamfer edged edition brought out to exploit the fourteen coloured engravings by Cooper Clay & Company a bit of a novelty for the time. There are some tissue guards in place and the heavyweight smooth art paper shows the plates at their best. Stored inside this clamshell box made at a later date has preserved the book and its gilt Victorian binding. At the rear of the book is a facsimile of the fair copy written by the poet. Hardcover.
