This is the only such on Abe as of April 2022. Exterior has modest sunning on rear where adjoining book did not cover. Otherwise rich and clean. Inside is unmarked crisp and tight. Spine a little darkened very slight bump to one corner new price label 'NF 18' to rear panel otherwise a near fine unread copy. Line illustrations by Cocteau. First edition of this uncredited translation by Austryn Wainhouse of Cocteau's novel which was first published in French in 1928 under the title Le Livre Blanc. The definite article is retained on the half-title and title page of this edition but the front cover uses 'A'. Two years after its publication this edition was suppressed by the French authorities.
