1955274215St. Jean Ferret 1955. unbound. 1 page 10.75 x 8.25 inches St. Jean Ferret September 11 1955 in French untranslated to an unknown correspondent with interesting literary content in part: "Cher Monsieur" writing that he had sent an earlier letter and had not received an answer. He suggests that maybe his previous letter did not arrive or that the recipient did not think it worthwhile replying to. However he stresses that he does not trifle so to speak ever. Cocteau speaks of argot and mentions that he does not know the original text of "You Can Always Duck" 1943 by the British mystery writer Peter Cheyney but thinks the French translation by his correspondent is a masterpiece. He also would like to know the man who wrote pages 15-21 of "Alors toujours en blade" -- the title of the French translation 1947 of "You Can Always Duck." In closing Cocteau states "As the young woman of St. Germaine say 'it's feudal' and I think so." Natural folds; very good condition.

French playwright artist and designer.

unknown books

""I must tell you my gratitude for your eye which knew how to see above the place."" and denounces the struggles of influence troubling and surrounding the awarding of prizes of which he bore the brunt : ""Le plus drôle c'est que ma dernière tentative de justice dérangeait encore de combinés - l'entourage de Clément ""The funniest thing is that my last attempt at justice still disturbed some schemes - Clément's entourage"" This refers to René Clément who was competing that year with Monsieur Ripois il n'y est pour rien espérant un scandale publicitaire annulé par le prix spécial.
