1954biblio110
A First UK printing published by Michael Joseph in 1954.The BOOK is in near FINE condition.A little bit of pushing and creasing at the spine tips.Gilt titling remains bright.Very minor offsetting to the end papers and far less than commonly encountered.Book remains tightclean and free from inscriptions. The WRAPPER is complete and in near FINE condition. It is nicked in places and has a couple of minor closed tears. The spine colouring is good and in particular the red lettering has only slightly faded which is a common issue with this title. The Peter Rudland designed wrapper artwork looks very presentable in the removable Brodart archival protector. The book has been SIGNED by the Author to the first blank end-paper: 'I hope you like this book' Doris Lessing'. The Nobel Laureate's fifth book and increasingly scarce to find with such attributes.Accompanied by photocopies of the correspondence between Doris Lessing and the inscription dedicatee explaining the inscription.Ashtonrarebooks welcomes direct contact.
Michael Joseph hardcover
